Amazon.com Review
Designed in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft, Royal Albert's Old Country Roses has become one of the most popular china patterns in the company's century-long history. The sumptuous design is enhanced by the pieces’ sophisticated shape, graceful floral ornamentation, and rich feminine colors, with a style and elegance that are uniquely English.
Measuring 9-1/2 inches tall, 9-1/4 inches wide, and 11-1/2 inches from handle to handle, this tureen provides ample room for serving vegetables or soup while adding elegance to the table. The crisp white background gracefully showcases the pink and golden yellow country roses displayed around the bowl of the tureen, on the handles, and the lid. Set on a bed of greenery, the delicate flowers resemble those growing in a classic English garden. A sculptural definition decorates the bowl as well as the lid, and a hand-trimmed border in 22-carat gold completes the romantic design. A graceful pedestal adds height to the tureen, while a groove in the lid ensures that the serving utensil can remain in the dish at all times. For best results, Royal Albert recommends washing fine bone china by hand. --Lea Werbel
